With more delightful partnerships, The Sandbox continues to grow its ecosystem. Of its latest announcements, The Sandbox has just struck an explosive partnership with SM Brand Marketing.
In detail, this collaboration will bring a Play2Create (P2C) model onto The Sandbox. This means that fans on the platform will be able to produce NFT goods based on SM Intellectual Property (IP). ‘
Indeed, this marks the first partnership with the Metaverse platform to build a Play2Create (P2C) ecosystem. To highlight, this ecosystem came from Chief Producer Soo-Man Lee.
The Sandbox will now dedicate a themed space titled ‘SMTOWN LAND’. While this is a tentative name, it will be built in the K-verse — a specialized space for K-content within The Sandbox. More so, this space will likely host metaverse events like fan meetups and exclusive concerts.
With this new P2C model, a new re-creator economy will come into play. Here, players can access a multitude of games whilst simultaneously creating NFT items in reaction to SM Entertainment Group’s Intellectual Property (IP).
CEO of SMBM — Chris Lee says,
“SM Entertainment Group has become of a company which has unlimited potential to expand in the digital world based on numerous IPs, artists, and the SMCU within the metaverse through this partnership opportunity.”
Meanwhile, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox — Sébastien Borget, says The Sandbox is proud to be the very first NFT metaverse SM Entertainment Group chose to partner with. Certainly, it is an honor to be bringing SM the universe and culture to life.
Together the partners aim to produce NFT items to operate a fan-centric service for dedicated fans worldwide. In addition, they are also working to offer more future collaboration. For instance, NFT swaps between the SM Entertainment Group’s P2C ecosystem and The Sandbox.
