• Google Cloud has become the 18th validator for the Ronin Network.
  • Other prominent validators include Animoca Brands, DappRadar, and Yield Guild Games.
  • Axie Infinity’s Season 0 has concluded, with a former professional Dota 2 player emerging as the champion.

Sky Mavis, the creator of Axie Infinity, has revealed that Google Cloud has officially become a validator of Ronin Chain, an Ethereum sidechain dedicated for the Play-to-Earn (P2E) gaming ecosystem.

Sky Mavis made the announcement during the second day of AxieCon, a global gathering of Axie Infinity fans in Barcelona, Spain. This makes Google Cloud as the 18th validator in Ronin Chain. Aside from Google Cloud, other prominent names include Animoca Brands, DappRadar, and Yield Guild Games (YGG).

The move to welcome additional validators came as an action to secure the said network after the notorious hack earlier this year. In detail, hackers were able to nab more than $600 million worth of cryptocurrency. Fortunately, those who lost their assets received compensation after Binance and other entities raised funds to make up for the loss.

Meanwhile, the Season 0 of Axie Infinity Origin has concluded, with ex-Dota 2 professional player Theeban “1437” Siva emerging at the top.

The new iteration of the game proved successful in terms of preventing the excess minting of Smooth Love Potion (SLP). Specifically, Sky Mavis announced that throughout the entire duration of Season 0, the amount of SLP burned far exceeded those that were minted.

However, there are still more than 30 billion SLP that remain in circulation. At the time of writing, SLP is changing hands at $0.0040 per piece, according to CoinGecko. It also has a 24-hour increase of 7.1%.
