Do Kwon Seeks Shelter in Dubai: Will It Let Him In?

Police Report Filed Against Do Kwon Amid LUNA Crisis
  • Reports update that the Luna founder may have sought shelter in Dubai.
  • Do Kwon mentions that the arrest order doesn’t include an international arrest warrant.
  • A Discord group of roughly 4,400 investors was looking for Do Kwon’s location.

Sources have alleged that Terraform Labs CEO Do Kwon has now left Singapore and is already now in Dubai, UAE. In fact, according to South Korean prosecutors, the infamous fugitive is already settled somewhere in the said emirate.

People believe that the move is only expected, as UST Restitution Group (URG), a Discord community of around 4,400 investors duped by Terraform Labs said that Dubai is known for its crypto-friendly stance. “It would appear to be the most appropriate explanation for the 3-5 hour timezone change in the data,” one member added.

The question however remains on whether Dubai has indeed allowed Do Kwon entry. According to records in the country, there is no confirmation yet that Kwon is indeed inside.

For those previously uninitiated on the topic, Kwon was given until October 19 by the South Korean authorities to turn up his passport. He would then be classified as an illegal immigrant for failure to do this.

Conversely, Kwon alleged that the charges leveled against him by the South Korean prosecutors are not legitimate and are rather politically motivated.

Kwon said he has yet to receive a copy of Interpol’s red notice and his understanding is that the order doesn’t include an international arrest warrant. He said he is complying with “all the document requests” made by the South Korean prosecutors.

“Every sovereign nation can interpret the red notice the way it sees fit,” he told journalist Laura Shin on her podcast Unchained. He said he plans to address, appeal, and do everything to get a “better result.”
