- Ripple works with SpaceX partner Jared Isaacman for a charitable XRP donations project.
- XRP is now among the crypto donation options for the Maui Emergency Response Fund.
- Ripple pledges to match contributions, potentially doubling donations up to $50,000.
Ripple, the renowned payments company behind the crypto token XRP makes an unexpected move. It is teaming up with Jared Isaacman, famously known as Elon Musk’s partner at SpaceX.
Isaacman, the billionaire founder of Shift4 Payments, made headlines in 2021. Specifically, when he embarked on a journey to Earth’s orbit aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule. In a recent announcement, Ripple confirmed its involvement in a charitable endeavor alongside Isaacman.
The joint initiative entails a donations project involving XRP and cryptos for the Maui Emergency Response Fund. Under this project, XRP has been integrated as one of the cryptocurrency donation options available through The Giving Block, a crypto donation solution provider.
A quote from an article from the post above highlights the partnership.
“Ripple will be joining Shift4 CEO Jared Isaacman, and the next $50K USD in any crypto donations made to the Maui Relief Fund will be matched 200%.”
This collaboration involves Donation Matching, where one party matches the contributions made by another party. In this case, Ripple has committed to matching Isaacman’s contributions, effectively doubling the cryptocurrency donations received, up to a total of $50,000.
While this partnership does not conclusively indicate a deep connection between Jared Isaacman and Ripple, it leaves room for speculation about potential future collaborations.
Elon Musk, known for his influential tweets about cryptos, especially Dogecoin, has significantly impacted the crypto market with his social media activity. Notably, SpaceX and Tesla previously introduced Dogecoin as a payment option on their websites for the purchase of company merchandise during the crypto market’s bull run in 2021.
