Bitcoin (BTC) briefly hit the 70k level recently after US presidential candidate Donald Trump gave a bullish keynote speech at the 2024 Bitcoin conference in Nashville last weekend. Trump announced that Bitcoin mining will be protected in America and announced his intention to hold and acquire Bitcoin as a national strategic reserve asset.
The Bitcoin price looked set to break above 70k, however, the rally was interrupted by news of the US government moving over $2 billion worth of seized Bitcoin on-chain. This has spooked markets, sending Bitcoin down to 66k levels and may dampen the Trump pump for now.
