Prominent rapper and entrepreneur, Snoop Dogg, has taken a definitive stride into the non-fungible token (NFT) space, announcing his NFT collectible series, the Snoop Dogg Passport Series. Set to evolve alongside his summer tour, the Passport Series extends to fans an interactive, virtual concert experience like never before.
The Passport Series operates as a dynamic tour poster, evolving in sync with Snoop’s tour stops, beginning July 7 in Vancouver. Offering more than a traditional collectible, the Passport Series affords holders access to exclusive merchandise, behind-the-scenes content, unique art, and unparalleled experiences.
Not limiting to the Passport Series, Snoop Dogg is also rolling out Snoop Selects, a carefully curated NFT artwork collection to be airdropped to all passport holders. This venture is brought to life in collaboration with the Web3 platform Transient Labs and talent agency WME, with Transient Labs’ COO, Chris Ostoich, at the helm of engineering the project.
Fans can procure the digital passport for approximately $42 or 0.025 ETH through Crossmint, an NFT payment processor, or diverse cryptocurrency wallets.
Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Broadus Jr., along with his son, Cordell Broadus, are no strangers to the crypto domain. Their involvement spans the release of an NFT collection, plans to transition Death Row Record into a major metaverse label, and the conceptualization of the Snoopverse, a virtual community within The Sandbox metaverse world.
Concerning the Passport Series, Snoop Dogg stated,
I’ve always been pushing things forward… I’m hoping other artists can see what I’m doing and continue to innovate on their own.
Looking into the future, the introduction of NFTs like Snoop Dogg’s Passport Series, paves the way for a radical shift in the music and entertainment industry. This project embodies the digital evolution of fandom, concerts, and merchandising, signifying a milestone in the intersection of crypto and pop culture.
