Axie Infinity shocked the community with its reveal of Origin content. Specifically, the game showed the possible tail cards and their skills and effects.
Many consider Aqua cards as outstanding, as well as popular options like Gravel Ant and Yam. Also, with the new mechanic of Gila, poison builds will become all the rage once more.
However, the leak did not erase the disappointment of community members from the unimpressive price of Smooth Love Potion (SLP) and Axie Infinity (AXS). Many still voiced complaints about the non-release of a more efficient SLP burning mechanism.
Interestingly, this is not even the whole source of frustration. In a surprising turn of events, loyal Axie Infinity community members have started criticizing the game developers for deciding to increase the marketplace fees without any warning.
For those who are not aware, the marketplace fee will soon increase from 4.25% to 5.25%. This means that buyers will now have to pay an additional 1% more wrapped ether (wETH) for every purchase. The amount of wETH charged is based on how expensive the purchase is.
Although the marketplace update was announced two days earlier than the Origin leak, the complaints kept popping up on social media.
Many believe that the best direction that Sky Mavis should have taken is to seek the community’s sentiment through a vote. Nevertheless, the update has been implemented.
According to official channels, Axie Infinity’s Origin update will roll out by the end of March 2022.
