  • HTC announces the launch of its metaverse phone today.
  • The metaverse phone is called ‘Desire 22 Pro’.
  • It supports web3, metaverse, and crypto apps on the Ethereum and Polygon networks.

HTC makes a huge comeback and turns the tide for smartphones everywhere by introducing its latest metaverse phone. The launch of ‘Desire 22 Pro’ is making waves in the crypto and blockchain sphere today.

In detail, the metaverse phone will come with a digital assets wallet as well as a Virtual Reality (VR) headset. The latter will be available as a pairing feature and is in the strategy of the Taiwanese firm’s latest web3 expansion.

It’s looking like the next mass adoption of web3 will take place on mobiles and smartphones. The Polygon, and in extension, the Ethereum network will both support the ‘Desire 22 Pro’. As mentioned in the tweet, Polygon’s strategy is to integrate into existing manufacturers rather than build its own.

This announcement with HTC is the blockchain network’s first major integration. From here on, they will be moving forward to expand among other manufacturers. Specifically with the ‘Desire 22 Pro’, this HTC model will come with inbuilt metaverse applications.

In particular, ‘Desire 22 Pro’ users will be able to access its metaverse arm Viverse. This will give users a rich metaverse experience without the presence of a VR headset. More so, Viverse apps and Vive wallets are built into the phone.

Additionally, users can manage crypto assets and NFTs on the Ethereum and Polygon networks. Besides this, they can also create virtual avatars. To start off, the metaverse phone will be available in Taiwan, Japan, and Europe.

HTC is proud to be one of the first phone makers to delve into blockchain technology. From the tweet above we can see that responses show quite some excitement. Most metaverse, crypto, blockchain, and smartphone enthusiasts are looking forward to having the phone arrive across the world.
