Read CRYPTONEWSLAND onAs the tweet above showed, Kwon was caught at the Podgorica airport in Montenegro, one of the Balkan countries. Previous reports also mentioned that he was last seen in these countries in Southern Europe.
Official sources, including Montenegro’s ministry of interior affairs, have yet to make an official announcement. However, Filip Adzic, Montenegro’s Minister of Interior, posted the infamous capture of Kwon in the below tweet.
For those who did not translate the tweet into English, the post is basically saying that they have captured Kwon.
Bankless also posted the same story, although it did not mention its source. As per Bankless, the local police have Kwon in custody. It might be possible that the source is also Adzic.
Should the story be confirmed by official sources, it would mean South Korea, the International Police (INTERPOL), and US officials would be lining up to prosecute Kwon.
Recently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that it is on Kwon’s tail. It is the most recent force hunting down Kwon, as he is being sought after by the INTERPOL and South Korean prosecutors.
Kwon is wanted for being one of the alleged masterminds behind the collapse of the first iteration of Terra (LUNA), as well as Terra USD (UST). In fact, Kwon is neck-to-neck with Sam Bankman-Fried as the most notorious person in crypto so far.
