Participants can join in various categories, namely Ethereum on Cosmos, DeFi, and Gaming, which offer $100,000 in ATOM each. There are also other categories that yield higher prize pools such as Starport, End-User Apps, and Earth, which offer $200,000, and Interoperability, which has a $250,000 prize pool.

The event is organized by Tendermint, an open-source software that allows developers to create blockchain-based applications in any programming language. Additionally, some Tendermint representatives will join the board of judges, along with other experts from HackAtom VI sponsors.

Cosmos is a blockchain ecosystem much like Ethereum. However, Cosmos focuses on integrating different blockchains with its Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol. Its native asset ATOM price is worth $37.23 at the time of writing, according to CoinGecko.
