As stated in the tweet, Schnelli joined as a Bitcoin developer back in 2013 when the crypto asset was in its earlier stage. At that time, the cryptocurrency had yet to experience mass listing on exchanges.

Interestingly, Schnelli’s resignation came ahead of the lawsuit between Ira Kleiman and Craig Wright. By and large, the lawsuit focused on intellectual property rights. Specifically, Kleiman claims that Wright co-developed Bitcoin with other persons including his brother Dave.

On the other hand, Wright is well-known for claiming that he is none other than Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin’s mysterious inventor. While Wright is adamant of his position, a majority of the crypto community are convinced otherwise.

Earlier, Wright filed a lawsuit against Schnelli and other Bitcoin developers over the notorious Mt. Gox hack in the early days of crypto. Others are quick to assume that Schnelli’s resignation is connected to the lawsuit, although Schnelli did not confirm it.

Overall, Schnelli advised youngbloods to maintain their anonymity should they plan to contribute to Bitcoin as a developer.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin price is at $61,899.13, according to CoinGecko. Recently, Bitcoin reached its all-time high at around $66,750.
