- Swiss ZeroSync partners with Blockstream
- Bitcoin zero-knowledge proofs via satellite
- Faster node syncing, global access
Swiss non-profit organization ZeroSync Association has joined forces with Bitcoin infrastructure company Blockstream to announce their intention to transmit Bitcoin zero-knowledge proofs, one of 2023’s most prominent blockchain-tech trends, via Blockstream’s satellite network. This innovative partnership seeks to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of Bitcoin worldwide.
Utilizing zero-knowledge proofs (zk-proofs) for validating the Bitcoin blockchain enables nodes to sync within mere fractions of a second, bypassing the need to download the current 500GB of data which usually takes hours or even days. This expedited process allows for a more seamless experience when engaging with Bitcoin transactions.
Blockstream’s satellite network offers free global access to the Bitcoin blockchain by broadcasting it across the entire planet, extending coverage to regions with unreliable internet connectivity. ZeroSync anticipates the first experimental broadcast to occur by the end of the year, marking a significant milestone in expanding Bitcoin’s reach and accelerating its adoption.
In other news, according to the law, which is written in Spanish, the fundamental purpose for abolishing all IT-related taxes is to encourage the expansion of tech enterprises by creating a more sustainable operating environment.
