VeChain, in conjunction with DNV GL and Renji Hospital, is set to reinforce its commitment to healthcare innovation by extending its partnership to develop a Digital Intelligent Cloud Tumor Center. The collaboration, now entering its seventh year, showcases a sustained dedication to advancing quality healthcare through blockchain technology.

Back in October 2020, VeChain, alongside risk management expert DNV GL, initiated a groundbreaking partnership with Renji Hospital, a major healthcare institution affiliated with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

The alliance aimed to launch the world’s first Intelligent Tumor Treatment Center powered by VeChain’s Toolchain, providing a transparent, efficient, and traceable medical management solution. The primary objectives included granting patients control over their medical records, facilitating authorized data usage for research institutions, and enabling regulatory agencies to conduct compliance checks and credit evaluations on medical institutions.

George Kang, Senior Vice President of DNV GL Group, expressed the significance of the Intelligent Tumor Treatment Centre, emphasizing its role in enhancing the integrated development of Renji Hospital. Kang hinted at future blockchain-powered use cases and projects, set to be unveiled gradually.

In a recent development, Renji Hospital and DNV have renewed their partnership for the seventh consecutive year. The renewal underscores their joint commitment to elevating international medical quality standards. Renji Hospital began the certification process for its international outpatient program with DNV in January 2017, achieving certification in April 2018.

DNV GL, through independent medical evaluations, aims to further enhance Renji Hospital’s service quality and medical experience, aligning with the Chinese government’s 14th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development, which emphasizes blockchain integration in the medical and health industry.
