- Twitter adds Ethereum (ETH) wallet to its tipping feature.
- This decision came 5 months after the platform added the Bitcoin (BTC) wallet.
- Along with Ethereum, many other non-crypto payment options also joined.
Twitter once again has caught the hearts of crypto enthusiasts everywhere. Recently, the social media platform makes an announcement about adding another crypto asset to its tipping feature.
In detail, Twitter users can now begin to tip interesting and creative content on Twitter with Ethereum (ETH). Of course, this isn’t the first crypto asset to make it onto the Twitter tipping roster. Indeed, the pioneer — Bitcoin, came first.
In addition to adding Ethereum wallet addresses to the tipping feature, Twitter also announces the joining of Paga, Paytm, and Barter by Flutterwave. Also, Bitcoin has been a tipping option on Twitter since September 2021.
To highlight, Twitter’s tipping feature made its debut in May 2021. Since then, the company has been steadily adding more and more options to include a variety of choices for users looking to support other content creators on the platform.
Lead Product Manager — Johnny Winston, told CoinDesk
We’re continuing to expand ways to get paid on Twitter which includes more choices for creators and fans who want to use crypto. We’re excited to add the ability for anyone to add their ETH Address to Tips
Presently, the price of Ethereum (ETH) is $3,097.72 with a total market cap of $369,983,935,149. According to CoinGecko, this price is up by 0.9% in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) is $43,832.90, up by 0.5% in the last 24 hours.
It seems many cryptocurrencies are slowly becoming mainstream. With the top two cryptos being accepted and used on Twitter, there’s no telling what other developments we may see next. Perhaps other cryptos will soon join Twitter’s tipping roster as well.
