The first aberrant transaction transferred around $3.9 million in Tether from Stake to the alleged attacker’s account, followed by two transactions moving 6,001 Ether, approximately valued at $9.8 million. Over the next few minutes, the account drained an additional $1 million in USD Coin, $900,000 in Dai, and 333 Stake Classic tokens, rounding up the total to a staggering $16 million.

Stake has confirmed the breach and assures that user funds remain secure. “We keep only a small fraction of our reserves in hot wallets for precisely these reasons,” clarified Stake co-founder Ed Craven.
