• Shibarium, Shiba Inu’s Layer 2 network, achieves 600k wallets and 700k transactions.
  • The network is celebrating its success after a slow and rocky start.
  • Indeed, the network has bounced back well and is already working on its next steps.

Shiba Inu’s Layer 2 network, Shibarium, is celebrating a remarkable achievement as it surpasses 634,438 wallet addresses and 698,607 transactions, according to the latest data from Shibariumscan.

This development follows the confirmation by Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, that Shibarium’s mainnet and cross-chain bridges have been operating at full capacity since August 28, 2023.

While it is true that the Shibarium had a rocky start, it instantly bounced back after a swift relaunch. Presently, the updated metrics paint a picture of Shibarium’s impressive performance.

Specifically, the network now boasts an average block per 5.1 seconds and a total transaction count of 698,607, and counting. Also, it is already at a record of 400,115 total blocks and 634,438 wallet addresses, and counting.

Originally a Polygon fork, Shibarium faced early technical challenges due to a surge in user activity. However, strategic collaborations, such as partnering with Alchemy, resulted in a remarkable 1500% scaling of its operations, successfully overcoming these initial hurdles.

Shytoshi Kusama proudly declared that the mainnet and cross-chain bridges are now “functioning smoothly.” Asset withdrawals, including ETH, SHIB, LEASH, and WETH, are now processed within a window of 45 minutes to 3 hours. However, for BONE token withdrawals, users may need to wait up to 7 days.

In particular, Shibarium’s Layer 2 network was designed to alleviate the congestion and high fees often associated with Ethereum. The recent surge in its user base, as indicated by the updated data, aligns perfectly with the growing trend of Layer 2 solutions in the crypto space.

These significant milestones are likely to draw even more attention from developers, further enhancing Shibarium’s utility and value proposition. Consequently, Shiba Inu could potentially transcend its late memecoin status, taking substantial steps towards establishing itself as a formidable player in the broader crypto industry.

Shiba Inu and Shibarium fans eagerly await what the future holds for this ambitious project as it continues to make strides in the world of blockchain and DeFi.
