Tiffany Fong, the journalist known for bagging interviews with Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) during the FTX collapse, recently held an Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) session on Twitter. When asked whether Bankman-Fried would be convicted, her answer was “likely.”
Currently, Bankman-Fried is on $250 million bail and is expected to be residing at his parents’ house in San Francisco. He is facing up to 8 criminal charges on top of civil cases.
Notably, SBF is quiet at the moment, and it may be for his good. As many have pointed out, his actively speaking on various platforms is hurting his case more.
As to FTX, the exchange has filed its Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is planning to relaunch its services sooner or later. SBF is not on good terms with the current management of FTX, according to his transcripts and tweets back in late January.
In addition, SBF claims that partner legal firm Sullivan & Cromwell (S&C) did not provide its services in the best interests of FTX and its customers. Specifically, a document surfaced on January 20 where former FTX legal chief Daniel Friedberg opposed employing S&C further for the Chapter 11 filing.
Meanwhile, SBF’s former associates Caroline Ellison, who was CEO of Alameda Research, and Gary Wang, previously FTX CTO, have pleaded guilty to federal charges.
