- Robinhood launch Robinhood Wallet mobile app.
- Robinhood will be able to facilitate the trading of the digital currency.
- The wallet is being opened to 1 million candidate users.
According to recent reports, the Robinhood Wallet smartphone software, which allows users to make commission-free trades in stocks, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), and cryptocurrencies, has been made available for download. Robinhood is a platform that facilitates these types of trades.
As per the source, Robinhood will be able to facilitate the trading of the digital currency, and it will also enable users to purchase Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) within its own platform. Both of these features are expected to become available in the near future.
Surprisingly, the Ethereum (ETH) and Polygon (MATIC) ecosystems will be the locations where NFT viewing and trading will take place.
When Robinhood first added a new transfer feature to its original trading app, it called it a “Crypto Wallet.” When the beta version of this service came out in January 2022, Robinhood users could finally move cryptocurrency to and from the platform.
The Robinhood Wallet is an independent software that gives users complete control over their cryptocurrency holdings and access to additional, more complex functions. These features include the ability to connect to decentralized applications and NFT marketplaces.
According to Robinhood, the wallet is presently being rolled out in stages to more than one million customers who have been placed on a waitlist. These users must enter an access code. The beta version was initially made available in September to just 10,000 clients who had signed up for the waitlist.
At this time, the Robinhood Wallet app is only downloadable on iOS-based mobile devices; however, according to a statement made by a spokesman for Robinhood, the company is working toward making the Robinhood Wallet app accessible to all iOS users within the next few weeks and months. Support for Android is planned to arrive later this year.
