As we can see from the tweet above, the announcement seems to be receiving a very warm reception from the crypto community on Twitter. One tweet in particular states how lovely it is to see the crypto company hiring more employees just as most other crypto companies are laying off their employees.

To highlight, this venture by Ripple is driven by their hope to drive crypto innovation in Toronto. The engineering hub is a strategic move by Ripple to expand the industry whilst supporting local engineering talent.

Ripple will start with hiring 50 engineers for now. Eventually, they plan on hiring hundreds more personnel in the areas of machine learning scientists, product managers, and data scientists.

CEO of Ripple — Brad Garlington says,

Crypto and blockchain present an incredible opportunity for engineers to tackle difficult problems, with the potential for these solutions to impact the movement of value around the world.

In addition, he says that nearly every financial institution is preparing their own crypto strategy to leverage from this technology. Eventually, this will underpin our future global financial systems.

He also adds how crypto is one of the most exciting industries to work in. Thus, it should come as no surprise that talented people are jumping from traditional financial sectors to enter the crypto and blockchain space.

Finally, he states that Ripple’s key priority is to bring on world-class talent that will boost innovation whilst serving customers for years down the lane. In the past year alone, Ripple has opened offices in Miami and Dublin, and it looks like they are just getting started.
