• Ondo Finance launched a blockchain to help institutions trade tokenized assets in a secure and regulated environment.
  • The new blockchain allows easy transfers of assets across networks and improves security with permissioned validators.
  • Financial firms support Ondo Chain to ensure it meets institutional standards while staying open to blockchain developers.

Ondo Finance launched Ondo Chain which serves as a Layer 1 blockchain solution tailored for institutional investors. The platform serves as a bridge between institutional financial systems and blockchain technology operations. It provides investors with a secure environment that enables compliant trading of tokenized real-world assets. Blockchain technology allows investors to trade stocks, bonds and exchange-traded funds.

Ondo Chain integrates aspects from both public and permissioned blockchain networks. The system maintains regulatory compliance and provides security while ensuring complete transparency in operations. Financial firms, like Franklin Templeton among others, participated in its development. Their expertise helps align the platform with institutional standards.

Security, Compliance, and Cross-Chain Functionality

Ondo Chain enhances security by using permissioned validators. These validators help maintain compliance with financial regulations. The platform also introduces staking for tokenized assets. Users can stake assets to secure the network while earning returns.

To improve market efficiency, Ondo Chain includes an omnichain bridging feature. This allows seamless transfers of tokenized assets across different blockchains. It reduces liquidity fragmentation and lowers transaction costs. These features make blockchain-based financial products more accessible to institutional investors.

The Ondo Finance platform has also introduced Ondo Global Markets (OGM) to its users. The platform enables investors to access more than 1,000 securities from the NYSE and Nasdaq through onchain trading. Traditional financial instruments become accessible through decentralized trading protocols. This expansion strengthens Ondo Finance’s role in digital asset markets.

Institutional Adoption of Tokenized Assets

Blockchain-based financial services continue to attract institutional interest. Companies like BlackRock and JPMorgan, have developed tokenized asset platforms. The BlackRock BUIDL platform surpassed $500 million during its last reporting period while the JPMorgan Onyx platform enables institutions to utilize tokenized assets as collateral.

Ondo Finance has a Total Value Locked (TVL) exceeding $653 million. Its growth demonstrates the rising utilization of blockchain technology across financial domains. Tokenized assets and blockchain-based settlements are transforming global markets. Ondo Chain’s launch represents another milestone toward integrating blockchain with traditional financial systems.
