The legendary comedian and actor Jim Carrey joins the NFT space by owning his very first NFT artwork.
Read CRYPTONEWSLAND onIn a tweet, the iconic pop culture comedian announced that he purchased the art from the NFT marketplace SuperRare, an exclusive marketplace for crypto art.
Created by Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell, the NFT artwork named “Devotion” is a piece from the genesis project ”The Wild Within,” a series of collections that brings life into abandoned buildings from a forgotten Soviet era.
The Devotion NFT was minted by Koopsman six months ago. A few days ago, the art was purchased by SuperRare user moonpay for 20 ETH ($39,535 at the time of purchase). Moonpay sent the token to Carrey three days ago, making him the current owner of the NFT artwork.
Jim Carrey has been drawing and painting since he was a kid. He has spent decades making art that gained mixed reviews from critics. When he is not included in a movie project, he spends most of his time making expressive and emotive artwork in his New York art studio.
The multi-talented actor has more than 19 million followers on Twitter. His tweet revealing his first NFT has received more than 15,000 likes, 1,800 replies, and almost 2,500 retweets.
His recent involvement in NFT space and being an artist has brought questions on whether the actor would create an NFT or if he will invest more in purchasing exquisite digital art.
