  1. The last bitcoin will be mined in 2140, according to the Blockchain Council.
  2. Do Kwon is facing charges that may cause him to serve more than 140 years.
  3. Montenegro has yet to decide whether to extradite Kwon to the US or South Korea.

Do Kwon may need to outlive every human being today should he be found guilty in all criminal cases filed against him, as he might potentially have to serve more than 140 years combined in prison in the US and South Korea.

In fact, he may even see the last bitcoin (BTC) mined in approximately 2140, according to the Blockchain Council. After the last block reward is given in the said year, future blocks will not award any reward anymore.

At the moment, both the US and South Korea are vying to get their hands on Do Kwon. People are now speculating on which country Montenegro will hand over Kwon to. In addition, there are currently several bets happening on the prediction platform Polymarket regarding the country to which Do Kwon, who was recently arrested in Montenegro, will be extradited.

Currently, bets on South Korea are priced higher than bets on the United States, but it remains to be seen where Kwon will ultimately end up.

There is also a significant difference in the criminal penalties between the two countries. The maximum sentence in the United States can be over 100 years for certain crimes, while the maximum sentence in South Korea is only around 40 years. Montenegro has yet to decide on which situation plays out and which country ultimately secures Kwon’s extradition.
