Crypto Donations for US Politicians Now Possible on Base Network

  • 13 US politicians; among them Rep. Tom Emmer and Sen. Cynthia Lummis have agreed to accept crypto donations.
  • Paid features are available for over 240 cryptocurrencies and credit cards.
  • Donald Trump’s campaign for the presidency was reported to have been aided by $3 million in cryptocurrencies.

A new on-chain donations platform on the Coinbase-incubated Base network now enables U.S. politicians to accept cryptocurrency donations. This platform supports contributions through over 240 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as credit card payments, offering a modernised approach to political fundraising.

A Secure and Compliant Solution

According to testimonials on the platform’s official website, users believe that using cryptocurrencies to make donations allows them to support their desired causes. However, all transactions comply with the laws of the United States of America.

The purpose of doing so is to convince the company of a favourable opinion towards privacy, stressing that the amount of collected information is the least possible from a legal point of view.

Early Adoption by Politicians

Currently, 13 U.S. politicians have signed up to receive crypto donations through this platform. In the list of such congress persons some outstanding leaders support blockchain, for example, Rep. Tom Emmer and Sen. Cynthia Lummis.

The platform also has the “signup as a campaign” option which makes the addition of more political campaigns easier to integrate enhancing the non-partisan method of using cryptocurrencies for funding political campaigns.

Growing Acceptance of Cryptocurrency Donations

On the other side, former president of the United States of America, Donald Trump who is now the Republican candidate for the coming November presidential election unveiled a campaign council in May and commenced accepting donations in crypto. According to his campaign team, he fundraised $3m, and more than half was in Bitcoins.

The implementation of cryptocurrencies in support of Political campaigns is a revolutionary and fundamental shift in the paradigm of Political financing. It succeeds in creating a new generation of donor population that is willing and ready to fund new Schools securely.
