The Golden State Warriors have partnered with Coinbase. Coinbase is now their official cryptocurrency and blockchain partner. This partnership extends to the Warriors’ home court, Chase Center. 

Coinbase’s branding will appear in the venue. The alliance aims to increase fan engagement with new blockchain-based merchandise. Warrior fans who sign up on Coinbase will receive season-long benefits.

Coinbase Deepens NBA Ties with Warriors Deal

This deal will further enhance the existing association between Coinbase and the NBA. Coinbase also has sponsorships with the WNBA, NBA G League, and NBA 2K League. As part of the partnership, Coinbase will host fan promotions. 

Coinbase Chief Marketing Officer Kate Rouch expressed excitement about the collaboration. She highlighted the ways this partnership will help fans engage directly with the team. Coinbase hopes to connect Dub Nation to the blockchain world.

This partnership comes amid legal troubles for both the Warriors and Coinbase. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit against Coinbase. According to the SEC, Coinbase violated the law through the offering of unregistered securities. 

Meanwhile, the Warriors team and their player Stephen Curry are also involved in a lawsuit with FTX. Investors claim their endorsements contributed to major financial losses.

Renewed Sports Deals After FTX Collapse

Despite FTX’s fallout, crypto companies are making a comeback in sports deals. CoinGecko data shows a strong rise in U.S.-based crypto sports partnerships this year. Crypto firms have now tripled their sports-related deals compared to 2023. Coinbase’s new deal with the Warriors signals confidence in sports-backed blockchain promotions.
