  • The Blockchain Rio Festival 2024 Program welcomed Charles Hoskinson.
  • The CEO and Founder of Cardano (ADA) makes a thoughtful speech at the event.
  • He says the next-gen blockchain projects will elevate identity, privacy, and interoperability.

The Founder and CEO of Cardano (ADA), Charles Hoskinson makes a resounding speech at the Blockchain Rio Festival 2024 Program. He opens his speech by acknowledging the fact that he got rid of his iconic beard to remind himself that he is still young before diving into his speech.

To highlight, Hoskinson’s speech explains how identity, privacy, and interoperability will be the pillars of the next generation of blockchains much like the Midnight Network. He hopes to see mainstream adoption for this new option in the space.

To draw light to the importance of these assets, Charles Hoskinson begins with Bitcoin’s humble start of bringing privacy and transparency for moving value across the world. He shares his amazement at how far the industry has come since then.

Next, he mentions how crypto projects were all self-funded back then. Once funds started flowing in, these crypto visionaries looked to building greater solutions which brought smart contracts, DeFi, NFTs, and led to a boom in user-friendly crypto platforms.

After this, the third generation of the crypto realm led to more than programmability. This led to blockchain building and integrating technology that brought interoperability for the space. Close after, governance came to be which brought the need for identity on the chain.

The video goes on to show how subtly Hoskinson begins the conversation about the next space. The fourth generation, Hoskinson believes, is the dawn of the final phase in the blockchain industry where $16 trillion will enter the space.

In the future, countries and companies will be on chain and identity will be a crucial aspect. The metadata will carry your identity on legacy systems but with blockchains we have transparency which could compromise identity. Thus, Hoskinson concludes by saying despite transparency on-chain privacy is still lacking and platforms like the Midnight Network will lead to the dawn of the final phase in the blockchain space.
