Anton Shkurenko, the co-founder of Bitzlato, was detained by local police for an ID check and then released after a talk. As a member of Bitzlato, he is suspected of committing a number of crimes in the field of high technology, which led to his arrest.
Read CRYPTONEWSLAND onAccording to Coindesk, Shkurenko did not disclose the law enforcement branch that held him, but he said he signed a contract to appear if and when investigators so desired. Therefore, Shkurenko was issued a no-detention warrant to avoid further arrests.
Shkurenko asserts that he is a tech consultant for Bitzlato at the time of his arrest. However, he apparently held the keys to the exchange’s cryptocurrency wallets before handing them over to other members of the staff.
In the meantime, as the investigation against the exchange proceeds, a number of famous crypto firms have been called out for their ties to Bitzlato. LocalBitcoins, another defunct cryptocurrency exchange, was also linked to Bitzlato as a significant BTC sender.
