Associated Press Partners With Chainlink for Blockchain Data, NFT

The Associated Press has partnered with Chainlink.
The partnership will focus on integrating data on the blockchain.
AP will also partner with artists who want to create NFTs.

The Associated Press (AP) announced its partnership with Chainlink to facilitate its economic, sports, and race call data on the blockchain. According to an announcement, the partnership is to record information “in an unalterable way”.

Specifically, Chainlink will assist AP in ensuring that the latter’s news and data can be integrated into blockchain applications and services. This will generate better trust in information since it will be available on the blockchain.

Additionally, the partnership will allow AP to partner with artists who dabble with non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The AP blog explained,

“They [artists] can design works of art that ingest real-world data from AP’s node, creating new types of dynamic NFTs. Once ingested, the art can react, change, update, and more in real time.”

AP is also open for further blockchain exploration with Chainlink. Aside from the expected functions of blockchain, the partnership is optimistic that more developments and use cases will arise in the future.

The Associated Press is a US-based non-profit news association that has been established since 1846. Meanwhile, Chainlink is a blockchain-based oracle network built on Ethereum. At the time of writing, Chainlink’s native asset LINK price is at $30.77, according to CoinGecko.
