TravelX, a blockchain-based airline ticketing solutions provider that uses the Algorand network, recently announced that it has already catered to 1 million passengers globally.
Read CRYPTONEWSLAND onTravelX’s solution is to partner with airline companies and issue NFTickets to passengers. As the name suggests, NFTickets are airline tickets minted on the blockchain via non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
With the use of blockchain, NFTicket holders can sell their tickets to anyone using blockchain. This, according to TravelX, solves the problem of customers who change their mind after booking their ticket, as well as those who need to buy a ticket at the last minute for more passenger-friendly rates.
Some of TravelX’s partners are based in South America, although others, such as Globant, have a global presence. TravelX did not provide a list of airline partners upon an initial look at its website, apart from Argentina-based airline Flybondi.
As mentioned above, TravelX uses the Algorand network for its NFT issuance. The firm appears to be a close and esteemed partner within the Algorand ecosystem, as implied by various posts.
In other news, Algorand (ALGO) is witnessing a potential bullish continuation after retracing its price from yesterday’s spike. At the time of writing, ALGO is changing hands at $0.114 per coin, according to CoinGecko.
