In a startling revelation, Ethereum insider Steven Nerayoff has renewed allegations against Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, claiming intellectual property theft. Nerayoff, who had previously accused Buterin of copying his ideas, now suggests that Ethereum’s co-founder also imitated concepts from Cardano’s Charles Hoskinson.
Read CRYPTONEWSLAND onCardano, established in 2017 by Charles Hoskinson, a former Ethereum founder, witnessed his departure in 2014 due to a disagreement with Buterin over the project’s nature. While Hoskinson advocated for a commercial approach, Buterin favored a non-profit initiative.
Seven years later, Nerayoff asserted that getting rid of Hoskinson was a “huge mistake” and questioned Ethereum enthusiasts who supported Buterin’s alleged imitation of Cardano.
Nerayoff further claimed that Buterin replicated innovative ideas from Ripple to develop Ethereum’s smart contract functionality. He accused Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin of stealing his concept for Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and utility tokens.
According to Nerayoff, these two aspects have been the only successful elements for Ethereum, raising concerns about the platform’s technological foundation.
These accusations are not the first from Nerayoff, who recently alleged secret dealings between Ethereum executives and SEC chair Gary Gensler, surpassing fraud levels compared to FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried.
He promised to provide proof of these claims within the next 4-5 days, intensifying the controversy surrounding Ethereum’s leadership. As of now, Buterin and Lubin have not responded to these allegations. The crypto community awaits further developments as Nerayoff continues to unveil his claims against Ethereum’s core team.
