Binance And WhiteBIT Team Up To Help Ukrainian Refugees

  • Binance will launch a “charity crypto card” for Ukrainians who need assistance in leaving the country.
  • The company has already given $10 million in aid to Ukraine.
  • WhiteBIT to assist citizens of Ukraine who have been forced to leave the country.

The largest crypto trading platform Binance and the Ukrainian WhiteBIT have given their active support for humanitarian efforts amidst the ongoing war happening in Ukraine. The crypto exchanges are looking to help Ukrainian refugees who had to leave their country due to Russia’s invasion.

Binance to Launch Charity Crypto Card

Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, disclosed on Telegram their continuous work with Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao and his department on cryptocurrency adoption.

Binance will release a “charity crypto card” this month for Ukrainian citizens who have been displaced. Additionally, the crypto exchange plans to support “crypto literacy projects”. This will help Ukrainians gain digital skills and “acquire new digital professions.” 

Federov also emphasized that Binance has already given $10 million in aid to Ukraine. Moreover, this will soon increase to $20 million. The fund comes from Binance Charity’s Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund. 

To support Ukrainian refugees, families, and children, users send donations via BTC, ETH, and BNB to this binance.charity/Ukraine-Emergency-Relief-Fund.

WhiteBIT Collaborates With Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry

In other news, Ukrainian exchange WhiteBIT has signed a partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The WhiteBIT team described in its blog post:

“We continue to work, establish cooperation with the state, and help Ukraine. By scaling up the business in other countries, we scale up social projects essential for maintaining democracy and European values.”

According to the blog post, WhiteBIT will assist Ukraine’s Consular Service in countries where they have an office. They will also clear the passage for “foreign diplomatic institutions to barrier-free digital spaces”. The company also guaranteed its support for the Anti-Crisis Center for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the call center. This is to give consultations to Ukrainians in need of help.
