In particular, the announcement came during Turkey’s Forum Metaverse. To highlight, the forum hosted over 2,000 attendees. It went with the slogan ‘The future belongs to those who design it’. Attendees include members of congress, ministries, and the presidency.

At the forum, guests were privy to many demonstrations and exclusive discussion sessions. Here, they spoke of and debated the many possibilities and risks of the metaverse. To kick off the forum, President Erdoğan drew light to digital transformation.

In fact, he says 2022 will be the year for digital mobilization. He intends for Turkey to produce its own digitalization. This is so the youth of Turkey will not have to depend on foreign cultures for such facilities.

We won’t know peace without producing our authentic technologies, software, and content. We can’t look to the future with confidence if the future of our nation’s minds and hearts grow dependent on channels of other nations

All in all, Turkey is going to go full throttle with the metaverse. Above all, it will start with the education sector. Thus, the nation’s Minister of Education Mahmut Özer made an announcement.

Accordingly, he says the education sector will be the first in line when it comes to implementing the metaverse. In detail, the minister shares that several fields demand hands-on technical training.

Therefore, many sessions are being implemented as pilot programs to kick off metaverse training. Once this step is complete, more fields in education will be considered for metaverse implementation.

The minister emphasizes the need for proper metaverse training. Hence, by setting up these training facilities, both the number of apprentices and the quality of the training will continue to increase. No doubt, the world is waiting to see what Turkey will accomplish with this move.
