After the huge success of Polkadot APAC Hackathon in October 2021, the Web3 Foundation now brings this fully virtual program that will last for six weeks. Focusing on Substrate, Polkadot, and Kusama, the hackathon will gather a diverse community of blockchain developers to build and collaborate.

Everyone from everywhere can join the event even though it prioritizes those in North America. Blockchain developers are in an ideal environment to create, make and break news blockchains, and learn from other attendees.

The event mainly provides the global community of developers a chance to win a massive prize pool from five different categories: Category 1 – Interfaces & Experiences, Category 2 – DAO & Governance, Category 3 – Web3 & Tooling, Category 4 – DeFi, and Category 5 – NFT.

The prize pool reached $270,000 and will continue to grow. In addition, participants may also win a swag box, discount for Substrate Runtime Academy, and more prizes that will be added from the Polkadot ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the day-to-day schedule of the hackathon, along with event names and timeline, is posted on its website. Moreover, judges and mentors from the event come from various fields across Web3 and crypto space.

This hackathon is open to individuals and teams who want to participate, and must comply with the rules set by the organizers. To register, participants must sign up using Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, GitHub, or use their email via their website.
