As we can see from the tweet and video above, it looks like Playboy has big plans for its entrance into the metaverse. In fact, Playboy’s debut will include digital subscriptions, NFTs, and a massive virtual mansion.

In detail, the NFTs will include an exclusive range of newly created artworks. Specifically, these NFTs will be based on the iconic and renowned Playboy bunny logo. These digital avatars will be launched on a social platform called ‘Centerfold’. More excitingly, Centerfold is set to compete with OnlyFans

The current CEO of Playboy — Ben Kohn, talks about the power and presence of the brand and its logo:

When you think about what this brand represents, from a marketing perspective, from an awareness perspective, we pretty much have 100% awareness everywhere in the world.

The Playboy Mansion will follow after the NFT and Centerfold launch. Meanwhile, A&E is working on a documentary focusing on Playboy’s stained past. The 10-part series is titled ‘Secrets of Playboy’.

To highlight, the show will focus on the tales of former employees and past playmates and girlfriends of the company’s late founder — Hugh Hefner. In particular, the series will zero in on his supposed dark side.

It has now been five years since Hefner’s passing and two years since Playboy deployed its last legacy print magazine at local newsstands. Now, it looks like the brand is kicking up its presence in the digital and virtual realm.
