Digital NFT collectibles Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) announced that its official Discord servers had been exploited. The hackers are still unknown, and as per the BAYC network, 200 worth of ETH had been impacted by the attack. No details yet if there are high-end NFT collections that went on missing after this incident.
Furthermore, the BAYC network is just one of the platforms that suffered a system crack from unknown hackers. Based on the tweet posted by crypto enthusiast Watcher.Guru there are still other metaverse Discord servers that have been compromised. “ BREAKING: Bored Ape Yacht Club and Otherside Metaverse Discord servers have been hacked. Millions worth of #NFTs reportedly stolen.”
On the other hand, despite the recent hacking incident, the supported crypto of BAYC – ApeCoin (APE) keeps its position in the market. In detail, the crypto maintains its trading price within $6 to $8 in the space with a 24-hour trading volume of over $140 million. Meanwhile, the market cap of BAYC remains above $1 billion with a 24-hour growth rate of +3%.
