While Axie Infinity is still recovering from a $625M exploit, its Discord account has been targeted by another hacking incident. In a tweet, they stated that someone has hacked the MEE6 bot installed on their main Axie server.

MEE6 is a Discord Bot that can do numerous tasks including moderation, leveling roles, making announcements, playing music, and others.
Axie Infinity claims that hackers used the said bot to give authorization to a fake Jiho account, co-founder of Axie Infinity. This allowed the hackers to post a fake NFT mint announcement.
While the fake announcement has already been deleted, some users may still read the message until they restart their Discord. The Axie Infinity team disclosed that they took out the Mee6 bot from the server. However, one user claimed that he got his NFT and domain already stolen.
Furthermore, they warned users that they will not carry out a surprise mint without officially announcing it. They noted that major announcements will arrive via their social media accounts at the same time.
Meanwhile, the Mee6 team denied the allegations that their systems have been breached. In a tweet, they clarified that the reported MEE6 used to post unwanted messages after hacking the account of one of its employees.
Moving forward, Axie Infinity needs to take additional steps to ensure its security before investors start to leave. While most of its community investors already left, others are losing patience since it’s the second attack on its servers, the previous incident being the $625 million exploit.
